The Cedar Rapids Public Library now has a nearly complete set of the books on the suggested reading list for the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) exam. Fundraisers throughout eastern Iowa can access these books thanks to our contributions to the annual BE the CAUSE campaign. When we give, AFP gives back to our chapter and this year, our chapter board decided to make it possible for everyone to have access to these books, saving members from spending hundreds on them. AFP Eastern Iowa, a chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), is committed to advancing philanthropy by supporting people and organizations in the practice effective and ethical fundraising. The Eastern Iowa Chapter represents approximately 100 members in the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City Corridor and surrounding areas. The Eastern Iowa Chapter is honored to be one of the chapters to receive the 2016 Ten Star Chapter Award. This award honors those chapters that align their objectives with AFP’s current strategic plan and encourages them to perform specific activities designed to increase professionalism within the profession, as well as public awareness of the importance of philanthropy.
